Getting in the spirit of the day

My World is Pink (and green, and a little orange)

These photos were taken in my apartment complex.

Pink.

Pink.

More pink.

And just a touch of burnt orange to mix things up a little.

Colors

Finally! Those little pink and green buds burst open. Spring is here. Life is colorful once again. And Mimi and I went to drink in the beauty this afternoon.

My favorite pink blooms won't last but a week or two, so I want to enjoy every chance to see them and take it all in.

The blooms dance and bob in the wind.

I'm not the only nature lover in this household!

Colorful China

A lot of the time, China looks grey and bland. Maybe it's the weather. People often wear dark colored clothing too, adding to the feeling. But if you look in the right places, China can be very colorful.

Regardless of the "color," China is never boring. Never. Ever.

Street Scene - Beijing

This photo was taken on a cold day in late March in Beijing. Soon those trees will be budding, but right now things look a little grey and stark.

The woman in orange is the newspaper salesman (in case you couldn't tell).

True Love

Mimi loves me. I never doubted it. But you've really gotta love someone a LOT to savor their scent, the special scent that comes from their stinky feet. But my Mimi loves me THAT MUCH. No better pillow can you give her than my worn shoe or piece of unwashed clothing.

I'm traveling right now. The dog sitter, whose job it is to stay at my place overnight with Mimi, said that when I left to catch the night train, Mimi slept all night at the front door, waiting for my return. Mimi generally sleeps on top of the covers on the big bed -- honestly, she takes over the bed! It was a great sacrifice for her to sleep on the unpadded door mat waiting for her master's return.

She breaks my heart. But I know she loves me. The feeling is mutual.

Beijing Skyline
I'm back in Beijing this week. Here's part of the BJ skyline.
